Chennai Super Kings won by 2 wkts
KKR – 171/6 (20)
CSK – 172/8 (20)
Player of the Match – Ravindra Jadeja
So many twists and turns and it is the experienced CSK line-up that kept their nerves in the end. Could Narine have bowled the 19th? We can only contemplate now. CSK seemed to be cruising through the first half of the chase thanks to a 74-run opening stand but Morgan played his cards perfectly. He held back his mystery spinners for the old ball and though Narine went for 41 in his four overs, he picked up 3 wickets. Chakaravarthy too did his part well, conceding only 22 runs in his four and getting the crucial wicket of Dhoni. However, it was Jadeja who had the final say in the game as he blasted 20 off the penultimate over and put CSK in such a position that even though they lost Curran and Jadeja in the final over.
Chennai Super Kings continue their winning start in the UAE leg and it is three out of three at the moment. Also their second straight run chase on these slow surfaces and they are setting up a template on how to go about chasing. KKR came into this game with a lot of confidence and two back to back wins, they put up a good fight but it was not good enough on the day. They still remain in fourth place but not for long as Mumbai Indians are in action and they have a chance to topple them.
