The “Yellow Man of Aleppo” Has Been Wearing Only Yellow for the Last 40 Years

Can you imagine wearing only one color every day for three and a half decades? Abou Zakkour, a 68-year-old man from the war-torn Syrian city of Aleppo has become known as the Yellow Man after wearing only yellow for the last 40 years.

The story of the Yellow Man of Aleppo started on January 25, 1983, when Abou Zakkour made the decision to only wear yellow, because in his eyes the color represented love. It’s unclear what he did with his old wardrobe, but from that day forward, Zakkour only wore yellow garments, including underwear and accessories like neckties and hats, as well as yellow footwear. Even his umbrella and smartphone cover are yellow. And when he couldn’t find something to match his attire, he simply took a bottle of yellow nail polish and painted the differently-colored item to fit his Yello Man persona.

For him the yellow color represents love and something no one has ever done and no one even endures. He believes that no one in the world can wear yellow for 40 years, day and night, indoors and outdoors. He is also known as ‘Donald Trump of Aleppo’. This is because of the yellow color of Trump’s hair.

Wearing another color would make him feel off-beat and strange because he is wearing yellow for 40 years and it’s a long time. He cannot even have any different color within his yellow attire.

Apparently, many items in his small apartment in the Maari neighborhood of Aleppo are yellow as well, including the tablecloth on his kitchen table, the bed sheets and even the trashcan. The color yellow has been such a big part of his life over the last three and a half decades that he can’t help but surround himself with it.

In a heartbreaking video that went viral in 2013, members of the Syrian Liberation Army can be seen beating and tormenting the Yellow Man of Aleppo, asking him where his allegiance lied, or why he wore yellow. Zakkour can be heard telling his tormentors that he only owns yellow clothes, but that doesn’t seem to matter to them.

After seeing how the Liberation Army treated Abou Zakkour 5 years ago, many were surprised that he survived the civil war. In a recently published photo feature, he can be seen walking the streets of Aleppo in his signature yellow clothes, once again putting a smile on people’s faces

Now When I walks down the street or go to crowded places, people would smile and take photos with me. Many people stop to talk to me and joke with me and he thinks it’s called love,” this living, breathing legend of Aleppo told Xinhua, adding that he will never wear another color but yellow for as long as he lives.

Kolkata Knight Riders vs Royal Challengers Bangalore, 31st Match

Kohli became the first player today to play 200 IPL matches for a franchise. But it’s not an occasion he’d want to remember. It’s not the end of the world though. RCB are still third on the table, while KKR have jumped to fifth. Their bowling was on fire, and as Morgan said it was a perfect start in their bid to make a comeback in this tournament.

Kolkata Knight Riders won by 9 wickets, Sixth successive defeat for RCB in UAE.

A moment of Global Unity

21st September:The International Day of Peace

The International Day of Peace (or World Peace Day) celebrated annually on September 21 is devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, both within and among all nations and peoples. At a time when war and violence often monopolize our news cycles, the International Day of Peace is an inspiring reminder of what we can create together.

Peace day is celebrated on 21st September every year in United Nations but the question is ,why only one day is celebrated as a holiday then again next day the army and military set out for borders to fight the enemy. Actually nowadays for people it is a holiday just like usual Sunday.People have to understand that they should celebrate it everyday and in our mind we should have peace for other one everytime. Why there are wars? because of hate and revenge feeling in someone’s mind to others and then it takes a form of a war Between two persons to two countries.so why peace day for a single day,it should be in everyone’s heart and everyday we should memorize it.

2021 Theme: Recovering better for a sustainable and equitable world

HISTORY OF INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PEACE

In 1981, the United Nations General Assembly declared the third Tuesday of September as International Day of Peace. This day coincided with the opening day of the annual sessions of the General Assembly. The purpose of the day was and still remains, to strengthen the ideals of peace around the world.

Two decades after establishing this day of observance, in 2001, the assembly moved the date to be observed annually on September 21. So, beginning in 2002, September 21 marks not only a time to discuss how to promote and maintain peace among all peoples but also a 24-hour period of global ceasefire and non-violence for groups in active combat.

Peace is possible. Throughout history, most societies have lived in peace most of the time. Today, we are much less likely to die in war than our parents or grandparents. Since the establishment of the United Nations and the creation of the Charter of the United Nations, governments are obligated not to use force against others unless they are acting in self-defense or have been authorized by the UN Security Council to proceed.

Life is better in a world where peace exists and, today, we look to those who have been peacemakers and peacekeepers to learn what we can each do individually to make the world a more peaceful place.

“Peace cannot be kept by force; it can only be achieved by understanding”

31st Match Between RCB vs KKR to be played in Abu Dhabi, Sep 20 2021

KKR vs RCB. DUCKDESK

In the first phase of IPL 2021 we have seen that RCB have won their 5 matches out of 7 matches while KKR have lost 5 matches out
of 7 matches they have played so far.
IPL 2021 was the first time that the Royal Challengers Bangalore won more than two games in a row at the start of a season. In fact,
they won their first four matches. In a tournament in which they have promised much but not delivered a title, it seemed like just
the Royal Challengers’ luck that such an event would happen. However, the break might have actually done the franchise good,
because they’ve got a squad that looks rather stronger than the already good unit they had at the start of the tournament. The loss
of Washington Sundar to injury is significant, but in the bargain, they have gained Wanindu Hasaranga, Tim David, Dushmantha
Chameera and George Garton – a quartet that looks more potent than the ones they’ve lost: Adam Zampa, Daniel Sams, Finn Allen
and Kane Richardson.
In comparison, Kolkata Knight Riders’ only replacement between the two halves of the IPL has been Tim Southee in place of Pat
Cummins who has withdrawn from the second leg of the league.
At this point, both teams are exactly halfway through their league campaign, and have mirror-image results..
That’s an accurate reflection of how well each side did in the first half. Whether it’s a portent of what’s to come in the second half
of IPL 2021 remains to be seen.
Duckdesk will update you every details after the match ends.
